Drape yourself in BADBADNOTGOOD's "Velvet" and wear it all day

The new single "Velvet" from Toronto trio BADBADNOTGOOD starts smooth and ends smoother. It's the most cinematic thing these guys have done, with some Zappa-like quick chord changes bringing in the cool before bassist Chester Hansen's fingers start getting funky.

"Velvet" follows their latest LP III that came out earlier this year (read about it here), and like III, "Velvet" pushes into some slightly more sophisticated territory. It's more of the fusion / prog -like sound we heard with "Kaleidoscope" and "CS60". But that's not all they've been up to recently, they've also earned some more big-name hip-hop collaboration credits — including with Black Milk and Ghostface Killah.
