Take a trip through 25 years of DJ-ing with Nightmares on Wax, in a new mini-doc put out by Warp Records. It's released ahead of a retrospective compilation of his mixes that's coming out next month. He was one of the first artists on Warp Records (now home to acts including Flying Lotus and Grizzly Bear), joking in the doc about "Dextrous" (Warp's second release) that "we didn't even call it house music when it came out, we just called it funk."
It's all about feeling good. When it comes to selecting tracks, he lets a kind of sixth sense take control.
"I don't think there is an order when it comes to having a record collection," he says in the video. "You just kind of feel where things are."
Amen to that.
